PHP Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: severus_session) in /usr/share/phpmyadmin/libraries/ on line 86

He tratado de configurar sesiones con base de datos en mi instalación de servidor Ubuntu y empece a ver este error en my archivo log después de instalar el paquete de phpmyadmin y perder acceso a la pagina de phpMyAdmin en el navegador firefox.

Resolví el problema añadiendo estas dos lineas de código que sobre controla mi función session.save_handler con uso de base de datos.
